| Description | Party: the prior and convent of Canterbury Cathedral Priory Party: John son of Thomas atte Tye of Monks Eleigh
[Document badly damaged. John's full name, most of property description and most of details of transaction supplied from registered versions.] The priory claimed an annual payment of 13s 4d from John, which it had of the gift of Richard le priur ('dictus le priur') or of someone else, but now quitclaims to John for the payment and all arrears. In exchange, John grants the priory a plot of land 40½ perches long and 9 feet wide, lying with John's pasture to north and the pasture of Stephen the smith ('faber') to south and between the street called 'fenstret' and Stephen's pasture. Reserving to John the right to cut down trees growing on either side of the plot of land. John binds himself to pay the priory an annual payment of 2s, payable as specified, issuing from certain land called 'fantesland'. Right of distraint if payment in arrears.
