| Description | When Mgr Gilbert de Segrave, precentor of St Paul's Cathedral and bishop elect of London, reached Whitstable on his journey to Canterbury for prosecuting his election, he said that he could go no further without grave danger to his health. He therefore appointed Mgr Walter de Thorp, canon of London, and Joceus de Kinebauton, DCL, as his proctors, to appear before Henry [of Eastry], prior of Canterbury Cathedral Priory and the chapter of Canterbury Cathedral Priory to explain and excuse his absence and act for him in the business of the election. Written in Whitstable, in the house of William attechirche near the church of the same vill ('villa').
