The appeals have been taken to the court by the archbishop of Canterbury and his commissaries, as is more fully contained in another notarial instrument in John Alani's hand. When the rectors, vicars and priests were asked if they wished to ratify the appeals made in their name, they replied that they wished to ratify those appeals and all appeals introduced by ('interpono') the abbey and its proctors.
