[Document badly damaged. Many details taken from registered version.] Recites grant by Prior Henry of Eastry and the chapter of Canterbury Cathedral Priory, dated at Canterbury, 4 Jan 1322. The priory grants Edmund and Simon licence to give and assign the land on which the chapel in the messuage of Dean in Meopham parish is built with the land 5 feet around it and 2 acres of land belonging to the same tenement, which is held immediately of the priory, wherever they wish to maintain the chapel and the chaplains who celebrate mass there, the statute of mortmain notwithstanding. Reserving any offerings to the chapel, its altar or to the priest celebrating mass there to the parish church of Meopham. Marriages, churchings and baptisms are not to be celebrated in the chapel. Also reserving the priory's liberties.
Edmund and Simon promises to observe the conditions of the grant. Dated 5 Jan by Simon and 16 Apr by Edmund.
