Humphrey has received £6 4s 8d from Richard for 1 sack 2 stones and 10lbs of wool, of which 25 stones 9½lbs relate to the payment of wool from the hundred of Hinckford ('Hengeford'') [Essex] and 4 stones ½lb are to complete 1 sack 10 stones 5lbs and 1 quarter of wool in the vill ('villa') of Havering atte Bower ('Haveryngg') [Essex] of the portion of 10, 000 sacks. Humphrey acquits Richard of this wool. Given at Dunton [Essex].
Endorsed with memorandum that the document was written by John Whyte, clerk of Humphrey de Walden, memorandum that the sum of money contained in the receipt is 3s 4d short which Humphrey has not yet received because there are still arrears owed to John Loys, one of the collectors, for the vill ('villa') of 'Henye' (unidentified, presumably in Essex), which was assessed at 10½lbs of wool, 'boniton'' and 'Humfr' de Waleden'' in mid 14th cent hands. |
