| Description | Inquisition taken at Brooks End [in Birchington] in the vill ('villa') of Monkton in the full court held there before the bailiff ('Ballivus'), concerning damage ('wasta') done in a tenement called 'scottestoun' when Thomas le uscher and Stephen de atynbroke held it of the prior and convent of Canterbury Cathedral Priory. The reversion of the tenement belongs to the priory. The frankpledge and witnesses ('Borg' et sectae') of Birchington, Wood [in Acol] and Monkton say that Thomas uprooted, removed and laid waste a barn, a kitchen and many trees to the value of 60s. They also say that Stephen uprooted, removed and laid waste windows, doors, benches ('scannum') and roofing of the hall to the value of 60s 8d.
