| Description | From: John le merie of Meopham To: Nigel de Reffam 2 acres of land in the vill ('villa') of Meopham, lying with the land of Adam abbet to south, the land of the almoner ('Elem'') of Canterbury Cathedral Priory to north, the almoner's land to east and the land of Robert Rugge to west. For annual payments of 7½d to Adam Rugge and 1 rose as a quit-rent ('forgabulum') to John and his heirs, payable as specified, for all services except royal service, as much belongs to so much land. For this Nigel has paid 13s as a gersum fine. No date. [Date: handwriting and witnesses to other Meopham charters.]
