John Coventre, John Carpenter and William Grove have founded a college the church of St Michael Paternoster Royal ('de Paternostercherche in Riola'), London, of which the priory is patron, consisting of 5 chaplains ('capellanus'), 1 of whom shall be the master. The members of the college are to pray for the king while he lives, for his soul after his death and for the souls of Richard Whityngton' and others named by his executors. John, John and William have appointed 'Dominus' William Brooke, chaplain, rector of St Michael's, as master of the college and propose that in future the rector should always be master of the college.
The priory consents to this arrangement. It has also, at the request of John, John and William, granted William Estfeld', Everard, John Wasshbourne and Richard the right to nominate one of the chaplains of the college, or someone else if none of them is suitable, as master when the church is vacant and agrees to present their nominee to the church. Procedure for electing the master. Reserving to the priory an annual pension of 5s, previously payable by the rectors of St Michael's but now to be paid by the master.
Given at the chapter house of Canterbury Cathedral Priory.
