| Description | From: Robert Kilwardby, archbishop of Canterbury To: the prior and convent of Canterbury Cathedral Priory
The priory has presented John de Wadshil' to the church of St Dunstan [in the East], London, showing archbishop Stephen [Langton]'s charter, which ordained an annual portion from the income of the church for the cathedral fabric, and of which they seek confirmation. The archbishop grants the priory an annual payment of 100s from the income of St Dunstan's, payable as specified by John in St Dunstan's church. The remainder of the income is to belong to the church. John acknowledges all the ordinary burdens of the church and the archbishop requires him to reside wholly within the cure ('cura'). The grant is made in honour of God, the Virgin Mary and St Thomas Becket. Given at Mortlake ('morthelake') [Surrey].
