| Description | From: Mark, abbot of Lesnes Abbey; the convent of Lesnes Abbey
The Prior J[ohn de Sittingbourne, I] and the convent of Canterbury Cathedral Priory have granted the abbey licence for a chapel in its house in St Michael Paternoster Royal ('Pater noster cherche') parish, London, the advowson ('donatio') of which belongs to the priory. The abbey promises that nothing to the priory's prejudice shall arise from this grant. All offerings received in the chapel shall be paid to the priory. Divine service is only to be celebrated in the chapel in the presence of the abbot and canons who are in London on business. The parishioners will not be admitted to hear divine service on such occasions. The abbey also promises that the chapel will never have a cemetery or a bell. No date. [Date: John de Sittingbourne, I, became prior in 1222; Mark ceased to be abbot of Lesnes in 1227.]
