To; the prior and convent of Canterbury Cathedral Priory

The priory has presented him to the church of St Mary Aldermary ('Aldermariecherche'), London and presented him to Robert [Kilwardby], archbishop of Canterbury. John promises that if he cannot get possession of the church, he will not take any action against the priory once he has obtained another benefice. If any action is taken contrary to his promise it shall be invalid. Reserving the accustomed annual pension to the priory. He has caused the document to be sealed with the seal of the [rural] deanery of Canterbury.
Given at Canterbury.

Endorsed with description in late 13th and 17th cent hands and '.Rudham Bygod.' in late 13th cent hand.
