| Description | From: Henry II, king of England
Addressed to the justicar, sheriff and his faithful men of London, both French and English. The prior and monks of Canterbury Cathedral Priory are to hold their lands and men as well and freely as they held them in the time of King Henry [I], the king's grandfather ('avus'). No-one is to interfere ('intromitto') in the priory's jurisdiction ('Ballivia') unless it is on the priory's behalf ('per ispos'). The priory may remove its servants ('minister') when it wishes and appoint others as it did in the time of Henry I. The priory is not to be unjustly disturbed by anyone. No date.
