Recites the inspeximus of Prior John [de Chetham] and Canterbury Cathedral Priory, dated 9 Mar 1238. This in turn recites the grant by Robert [of Battle], abbot of St Augustine's Abbey, Canterbury, and the convent of St Augustine's Abbey to the abbot and convent of St Mary de Monte Mirteto, Ostia and Velletri diocese, of the advowson of Littlebourne church, dated 29 Jan 1238. Reserving the ordination of a vicarage to St Augustine's Abbey. The grant is made at the command of Pope Gregory IX and the request of the bishop of Ostia, sent to them by the pope first by 'Dominus' John of Ferentino, the pope's chaplain and archdeacon of Norwich, and afterwards by Deodatus the monk, a proctor. Canterbury Cathedral Priory confirms the grant by St Augustine's Abbey and the abbey's reservation of a vicarage.
