| Description | From: the prior of Dunstable Priory [papal judge delegate]; the prior of Caldwell Priory [papal judge delegate]; the precentor of Dunstable Priory [papal judge delegate]
Recites the mandate of Pope Gregory IX, dated 27 Apr 1233 at the Lateran. The abbey of Bec has complained to the pope that the abbeys of Abingdon and Tewkesbury and others in the dioceses of Salisbury, Worcester and Lincoln have injured them in tithes, possessions and other matters. The pope commands them to hear and determine the case. Tewkesbury Abbey was cited to answer Bec Abbey. Bec claims that it should receive greater and lesser tithes from Tewksbury for the demesnes of Bartholomew de Eveneb'ge, Geoffrey martel and Robert de meysi in Ogbourne [St Andrew, Wiltshire] ('minori Ockeburn'') which belong to Bec's church there. To settle the dispute, it was proposed that Bec should hold the tithes it sought as a perpetual farm from Tewkesbury and that Bec should pay Tewkesbury 30s a year, payable as specified to Tewkesbury's bailiffs ('Baillivus') of Ashton? ('Ayston') [Wiltshire].
