DescriptionFrom: Berardus de Narnia, 'doctor decretorum', papal chaplain, auditor of causes

[Document badly damaged. Large areas of text lost or illegible. Sense unclear.] Relating to a case between John [Surynden], prior of Leeds Priory and Leeds Priory convent and the abbot and convent of Lesnes concerning the sequestation of the tithes of Stockbury church, especially in a place called 'la dane', and the witholding of an annual pension of 3s 4d, which is unpaid to the sum of over £13. Leeds Priory has appropriated Stockbury church. The cause seems originally to have been heard in the court of Archbishop Henry [Chichele] by William Byconill', the archbishop's auditor of causes. Dated 1444, rest of date lost.
Remains of notarial sign and attestation, notary's name lost.

Endorsed with description in late 15th cent hand and 'Leedes' in 16th cent hand.
