Leeds Priory grants and quitclaims to Combwell Priory for tithes from lands called 'Cumwell' and 'Henle' on the fee of Thornham, a piece ('pars') of land called 'Esbroke', which was of the fee of 'Henle', held by William son of Norman and the lands of 'Pemberri' and 'ordingi' of the fee of Sutton [Valence?], which lie with the land of Chingley and Shearnfold ('Sarnfolde') [both in Goudhurst] to east, the land which was of Leofwin Lauerke and the land of Bromley ('Bromle') [in Goudhurst] to west, the land which was of Robert de Begeberi and the land which was of Nicholas de Hertle to south and the land which was of Ralph son of Emma and Osmerus the fuller ('fullo') and the land 'Wan' to north, which belonged to Leeds Priory's church of Goudhurst. Also for the offerings of Leeds Priory's servants who hold Goudhurst church. Combwell Priory grants and quitclaims for tithes from the lands it has of the gift of Roger de Leyborne and Eleanor, daughter of Stephen de Thorneham, his wife, and of the gift of William son of Bartholomew de capella and the land they have of the gift of Turgot ('Turgodus') coker, lying next to William's land, with the adjoining meadows all in their [Combwell's] parish of Thornham, which belong to Thornham church. Reserving to Leeds Priory an annual payment of 5s from the lands named above, payable as specified payable in Leeds Priory church, penalty of 10s plus the principal amount for non-payment. Nothing further shall be allowed to Leeds Priory or its vicar of Goudhurst. Reserving to Leeds Priory ('eisdem') the greater tithes from the same fee. Both parties renounce the right of appeal. The grant is made at the urging ('instantia') of E[dmund of Abingdon], archbishop of Canterbury, and with the consent of both chapters. Leeds Priory's part of indenture.
