Bernard, John and John are to make a new channel ('goter') 46 feet long in the manor of Lydden, taking up the old channel and laying a new one. They are to make the earthworks for the channel, and from the channel to the sea the prior will provide piles and wattles. Reserving any materials left over from the old channel to the prior. The prior will pay Bernard, John and John £6 for their labour as specified. If the work is defective within 10 years, Bernard, John and John are to make it good at their own costs and to provide the materials. Bernard, John and John are bound to the prior in £7 to perform all the covenants in the agreement. |
