The prior has leased John the manor of Lawling ('Lallyng') for a term of 20 years for an annual payment of £42. During the term John is to compile 3 rentals as specified. John shall arrange at the warden's next progress for 3 men to be bondsmen with him in the sum of 200 marks for keeping the covenants in the lease. If any of the sureties dies within the term, John shall find others if required. The prior shall deliver the stock specified in the lease to John at the start of the term and John shall return it, or the value of it, when the manor is surrendered.
