To: the prior and convent of Canterbury Cathedral Priory

5½ acres of land in Langdon ('Langedun''), lying in 4 parcels ('pars') on the hill ('mons') between Langdon and Brimsdale ('Bremesdene') [in the parish of Eythorne]. The first acre lies with the land of Nicholas son of Thorold to east and the land of the heirs of Nicholas the war-horse ('dextrarius') to west, the common land called 'shortfere' to south and the lands of Thomas and Norman to north. The second acre lies with the land of Nicholas son of Thorold to east, the land of the heirs of Nicholas the war-horse to west, 'shortfere' to south and 1½ acres of Alfred's gift to north. 1½ acres lie with the land of Ragenild of Bloodden ('Reynilda de Bleddinge') to east, the land of the heirs of Nicholas the war-horse to west and the land which the priory bought of Alfred son of Richard to north. The fourth and fifth acres lie with the land which was of Alfred son of Richard to west, the land which the priory bought of John son of Thorold to east and the lower ('inferior') ½ acre which the priory bought of Baldwin. Also a payment of 12d and 2 hens free rent ('liber redditus') and the whole of the service which Ragenild of Bloodden owes him for the land which the priory bought of Thomas Corbin, and an annual payment of 42d, payable as specified in the priory's treasury at Canterbury, for the remainder of his inheritance in Langdon. For an annual payment of 1d, payable as specified at the priory's house at Langdon ('Langed'') by the keeper ('custos') of the land. For this the priory has also paid 5½ marks as a gersum fine, to deliver Alfred from a debt to the Jews.
