In the king's court at Canterbury before William of York, William de Insula, Ralph de Norwich and Hugh de Pleyz, justices itinerant, and others on 20 Apr 1236. John and Emma acknowledged that 4 acres of land in Ickham ('Hicham'), which it had of their gift, is the right of the priory. To hold as free and perpetual alms for an annual payment of 1d, payable as specified. For this the prior has paid 10 marks. [The prior is either John de Sittingbourne, I, or John de Chetham.]
