| Description | From: Thomas Chillenden, I, prior of Canterbury Cathedral Priory; the convent of Canterbury Cathedral Priory To: Richard Presdenne of Tenterden
1 acre of land called 'Chalvenhamme', lying upon the denn of 'Wylfryndenne' with the archbishop of Canterbury's land to north, the land of the heirs of Stephen Balandenne to south and the land of the heirs of John Hamon of 'Wilfryndenne' to east and west, with a right of way for carrying and hunting ('fugandi') on and beyond the land of John Hamon's heirs called 'Goldhordfeld' to north. The land was of John Michel and fell to the priory as an escheat with the other property he held of its manor of Ickham because he was a bastard and died without heirs. For an annual payment of 1d as a feefarm ('feodifirma'), payable as specified in the priory's manor of Ickham. For this Richard has also paid 26s 8d as a gersum fine. If the land, or any part of it, is legally recovered from Richard and taken from him because of anything that happened before this grant was made, the priory will repay the 26s 8d, in whole or proportionally, within 40 days. Priory's part of indenture.
