Evidence shows that the priory's predecessors leased their estate ('fundu'') of Staplehurst in the denn of 'Wybyndenn' for fealty, suit to the court of their manor of Hollingbourne, for payments as specified, including a payment for the right to cut down trees ('daungerium') and payments of hens and eggs. Reserving to the priory all the wood on the estate and pannage when it falls due and 'daungerium'. The present tenants ('tenentes modernii') of the denn and other intruders ('invasores') have enfringed the priory's timber rights. The priory grants to them timber rights as specified. For an annual rent of assize of 4s. Right of distraint. Reserving to the priory fealty, suit of court, a payment of 2s 4d in cash, 4s for 'daungerium' and for a gift to the prior 5d, 4 hens and 20 eggs, except pannage which is owed when it may happen.
