John of Bridge ('Brugg''), clerk, has been presented to the rectory of Upper Hardres ('heghardes'), which became vacant by the death of 'Dominus' John, the last rector, by Gilbert [de Clare], earl of Gloucester and Hertford, and has been instituted. The archdeacon is commanded to induct John of Bridge. Given at the chapter house of Canterbury Cathedral Priory.
Endorsed with a memorandum relating to the exhibition of similar letters on 27 Oct [in the presence of?] 'Dominus' Andrew, priest of Eastbridge Hospital, Canterbury, 'Dominus' John of Acrise, rector of Barfreston ('Berfreystone'), Thomas de la stegele and Walter de Tuckbires.
