The priory is acting sede vacante. John of Bridge ('Brugg''), clerk, has been presented to the rectory of Upper Hardres ('heghardes'), which became vacant by the death of 'Dominus' John, the last rector, by Gilbert [de Clare], earl of Gloucester and Hertford, and has been instituted. The archdeacon is commanded to induct John of Bridge.
Given at the chapter house of Canterbury Cathedral Priory.

Endorsed with a memorandum relating to the exhibition of similar letters on 27 Oct [in the presence of?] 'Dominus' Andrew, priest of Eastbridge Hospital, Canterbury, 'Dominus' John of Acrise, rector of Barfreston ('Berfreystone'), Thomas de la stegele and Walter de Tuckbires. Also mentions the archdeacon's official and his chamber at [illegible].
