Addressed to the priory's reeves ('prepositi') and servants ('ministri'), present and future, and all its men of Monks Eleigh ('Hellega'), both French and English. At the request of Theobald, archbishop of Canterbury, the priory has granted the tithes of its demesne of Monks Eleigh ('Hellega') to Peter the scribe ('scriptor'), Theobald's clerk, for life or as long as he remains in the world. When he dies or renounces the world the tithes shall revert to the priory, but in future that church [Monks Eleigh?] shall have corn from 4 acres of land at harvest time ('in messe'). Given at the chapter house of Canterbury Cathedral Priory.
