To: the prior and convent of Canterbury Cathedral Priory

For a tenement in the priory's manor of Godmersham which he bought of Alice of Winchelsea ('Winchelse'), daughter of Philip of Iham ('yhamme'), and a tenement in the manor which he received ('capio') from Peter the goldsmith ('aurifaber') for a term of 12 years, as is more fully contained in the chirograph made for that purpose. For this, the priory has received him in its woods and its church ('receperunt me...in boscis suis et ecclesie sue...'). No date. [Date: handwriting and witnesses to other Godmersham charters.]
