| Description | Archbishop Simon Meopham's ordination of the vicarage of Godmersham, dated 24 Sep 1330, as in DCc-ChAnt/G/174. Note that it was compared with the original, including description of the archbishop's seal, and his signet, which was impressed on the reverse. Examined by A[nthony] Belke, auditor of the dean and chapter of Canterbury Cathedral.
Note in the margin by S[amuel] Norris, dean and chapter auditor, dated 25 Mar 1746, that the text is in the first register inscribed 'Berthona' and that the original was lost ('non comparet'). |
