Thomas Tanner of Godmersham, tanner, committed suicide on 26 Mar and his goods were forfeited to the dean and chapter. He was survived by a daughter, Anne, and 3 sons, Thomas, Henry and William, and left goods valued at £331 7s. The dean and chapter, wishing to make provision for Thomas's children, grant his goods to John and Henry for a consideration of £31 7s. John and Henry covenant that they will use the £300 for the benefit of Thomas's children. Details of how the money is to be used to maintain the children and division of it between them when they reach 21 or, in Anne's case, when she marries, if this is earlier.
