[Document damaged. Some small areas of text lost or illegible. Sense unclear in places.] The prior and convent of Canterbury Cathedral Priory, as owners of the parish church of Godmersham and its dependent chapelry of Challock, allege that 'Domnius' John Betty, rector of Eastwell, has unjustly taken and withheld the tithes from lands as specified and seek a remedy. The archbishop inhibits all other actions relating to this case and orders John to be cited to appear before him or the auditor of causes 15 days after the citation has been served on him, if this is a day when the case can be heard, or on the next suitable day.
