| Description | From: Matilda, countess of the Perche ('pertici') To: Laurence son of Jordan of Pagelsham ('pakelesham')
Her whole marsh called 'Wethereswerde' in Foulness ('Fulhelnasse') [Essex?]. For an annual payment of 20s, payable as specified. For this Laurence has also paid 4 marks as a gersum fine. No date. [Date: Probably Apr 1202 to Apr 1205. Geoffrey, count of the Perche, Matilda's first husband, died in Apr 1202. Matilda married Enguerrand de Coucy in 1204/1205 and died in Jan 1210. Three of the witnesses, including Richard son of William, Henry de Taid'n and Reginald son of Serlo, occur in Geoffrey's acta.
