To: the monks of Canterbury Cathedral Priory

Addressed to his bailiffs ('Baillivius') of Meulan ('mell't'). Robert grants the priory free crossing ('transitus quietus') for wine taken for its own use and [exemption from] custom in the whole of his land for everything bought for its own use, which can be guaranteed to be for its own use ('que poterunt iuste facere assecurari sua propria esse'). The grant is made from love of God and of St Thomas Becket and for the souls of his father, his ancestors and himself. No date. [Date: Robert's dates.]
