| Description | From: Alan, I, prior of Canterbury Cathedral Priory To: William of Eynsford ('Einesford'') [III], grandson ('nepos') of William son of Ralph
For the care which William bears the lordship ('dm'') and church of Canterbury the priory has received him into its fraternity ('societas') and into all the cathedral's future benefits. William has appointed himself protector and defender of the church of Eynsford ('Einesf''), alms of his grandfather ('avus'), which William his grandfather gave to the priory when he became a monk there. As a sign of the priory's devotion and love for William, it will give him a monk's fur-lined mantle ('pellicium'), boots, a belt and a knife with a sheath. No date. [Date: Alan's dates.]
