Sense unclear in places.] Following the death of James de Berkeley, bishop of Exeter, the pope provided John de Grandisson, who was archdeacon of Nottingham in York diocese, to the vacant see and caused him to be consecrated by Peter des Prez, cardinal bishop of Palestrina ('Penestrin''). The pope orders the archbishop to preserve the rights of the bishop and his church and allow him to exercise his office. Dated ... kal Nov, 12th year of John's pontificate, rest of date lost.
