All tenements which belong to him through Simon, his father, outside the east gate of the city of Exeter in the manor of St Sidwell, namely a messuage lying with the messuage which was of Philip Bithewalle the young ('juvenis') to east and the land of Alice, Thomas's sister, to west, 2 strips ('sullo') lying between the land of Philip the young and Alice's land, 3 strips lying between the land of Roger Baly and Alice's land in 'vuereheg'', ½ an acre with meadow in the furlong 'Biwendebrok'' which lies between Philip's land and the land of Michael son of Rothol'. For annual payments of ½d or a pair of gloves to Thomas and 18½d to the chapter of Exeter Cathedral, both payable as specified. For this Adam has paid 40s. No date. [Date: handwriting.]
