Description | Extract from the record of the court baron for the dean and chapter of Canterbury Cathedral's manor of Eastry, held on 10 Oct 1661. In 1657, John Westbeech late of Eastry and now of 'Westcourt' in Shepherdswell parish, yeoman, stole timber, ironwork and brasswork valued at £7 from the dean and chapter's mill at Eastry. In the same year, John Prett and Nicholas Prett, both of Eastry, labourers, stole the draw beam and the cog wheel, valued at £5, and Nicholas Frisby of Eastry, labourer, stole more timber, valued at £3.
