Description | Arguments submitted by Anselm of Eastry, rector of Eastry, against the appeal of the prior and chaper of Canterbury Cathedral Priory in a case of resummons ('reconventio') [relating to a tithe dispute] before the dean of Arches, London, brought by Anselm and appealed by the priory to the official of the court of Canterbury. Mainly procedural objections. Mentions that the priory has also appealed to the pope and obtained papal letters delegating the case to the abbot of Colchester who summoned Anselm to appear before Mgr R de Brand' [?Reginald de Brandon, canon of St Paul's Cathedral - see DCc-SVSB/II/213/6], his sub-delegate.
