The chantry has been established for the souls of Thomas Elys, his parents and benefactors. The priory gives the founders licence to grant the chaplains 2 messuages and 181 acres and 1 rood of land in Eastry and Worth, which the founders hold of the priory's manor of Eastry, and gives the chaplains licence to receive and hold the lands, the statute of mortmain notwithstanding. The chaplains grant that when one of them dies or leaves the chantry for any reason, the remaining chaplains will pay the priory 5s 0½d as a relief in accordance with the custom of the manor called 'landchiep'. The chaplains also grant the priory a right of distraint in the lands for the 'landchiep' and other customs and services due.
