Description | From: Stephen Langton, archbishop of Canterbury
He has inspected the charter of Mgr Simon Langton, archdeacon of Canterbury, dated Feb 1228 (as in DCc-ChAnt/E/118, recited). This stated that the church of Teynham had been united with the archdeaconry of Canterbury and granted and confirmed the tithes of Elverton in Stone [by Faversham] parish to the prior and convent of Canterbury Cathedral Priory, Stone being a chapel of Teynham. The archbishop confirms the archdeacon's grant and confirmation.
