Description | An assessment of the vicarage of Deopham, valued at 10 marks, made in the church of Deopham by R de Sypton', official of the archdeacon of Sudbury, using the testimony of a jury of 12 clerks and 13 laymen (named). Details of amounts payable from dues, tithes payable from named lands and a rent payable by the prior and convent of Canterbury Cathedral Priory and fees payable by the vicar given. Details of land assigned to the vicar by the priory for building a dwelling-house, the vicar's pasture rights and provision for paying for repairs to the church also given. Endorsed: with description in mid and late 13th cent hands and note by Samuel Norris ('SN') that the document was found on 30 Oct 1724. |
