DescriptionFrom: Cyprian Rondeau Bunce, gentleman, alderman of the City of Canterbury
To: the Lords Commissioners of the Treasury

Bunce recounts the difficulties involved in collecting the tithes due to the king from the vill of Dunkirk [Kent], formerly the forest of Blean. The inhabitants claim exemption from paying tithe because the area is extra parochial. Most of the land is unenclosed and uncultivated and to improve it would be expensive. Bunce petitions to be allowed a long lease of the great and small tithes and the waste lands of the vill.

Endorsed with description in contemporary hand. Dated 1794, no month.
