DescriptionFrom: Mgr S[tephen de Monte Luelli], archdeacon of Canterbury

He has received a letter from Queen A [Eleanor of Provence], dated 23 Mar 1267 at Dover (recited). Prior Adam de Chillendenne and the convent of Canterbury Cathedral Priory have, at her instiagation, paid various merchants £70 for wine and £20 for corn and other necessities to stock Dover Castle. She has promised that the whole amount will be set against their payment of the tenth which the priory is bound to pay the king by the direction of the pope.
The archdeacon allows the whole sum to the priory against the tenth.

Endorsed with a note of the amount paid from the tenth in the first year in late 13th cent hand.
