Description | Party: Ralph Urry of Deopham Party: the prior and convent of Canterbury Cathedral Priory
Ralph has quitclaimed to the priory for a windmill on the priory's desmesne at 'maydenho' in Deopham. He will restore all lands which have been unjustly alienated and cancel the writ 'Pone' brought against the priory before the itinerant justices at Canterbury and all pleas by which the prior is sued in the county of Norfolk. He will also return the charter of John, his son, concerning an agreement for the farm of Deopham, to the priory. He will also restore any encroachments he has made on the priory's demesne. To recover the priory's goodwill, Ralph agrees to pay 24 marks over a period of 6 years as specified to the priory's warden of the manor of Monks Eleigh at the said manor. Ralph binds all his goods to observe the conditions of the agreement and submits himself to the jurisdiction of the official of the archdeacon of Canterbury. For greater security, Ralph Juke, John Rolond, Alan Boule and Robert de Fosso also oblige themselves to observe the terms of the agreement. Dated 33HenIII, no month.
