A portion of his curtilage in St Mary Northgate parish, lying with to the priory's barton to north, 9 perches long, 21 feet wide at the south end ('caput') next to the barn of Richard the steward ('senescallus') and 20 feet wide at the north end. No date. [Date: handwriting and witnesses to other Canterbury charters.]

Endorsed with description in mid 13th cent hand and 'De bertona' and 'Northgate' in late 13th cent hands.
