To: the prior and convent of Canterbury Cathedral Priory

A moiety of the messuage which was of Eilboda Talebot in St Mary Queengate parish ('queningate') [in Canterbury], lying with the land of Pavia daughter of Walter Clare to north-west, the land which was of Matilda of Queningate to south-east, the king's highway to north-east and the priory's wall to south-west. Also an annual payment of 4½d free rent, payable by Pavia for land adjoining the messuage. Which land and payment Richard Talebot, Joseph's uncle, gave to him. For annual payments of 8½ to Reginald de Cornhelle, 1d to Richard Talebot and 1d to Joseph as a quit-rent ('forsigabulum'), all payable as specified. Made and recorded at the hundred court of Northgate ward and the borough moot of the city of Canterbury. For this the priory has also paid 6½ marks as a gersum fine. No date. [Date: possible date of John and Thomas as bailiffs of Canterbury.]
