| Description | From: Richard II, king of England To: the prior and convent of Canterbury Cathedral Priory
Releasing them from royal claims to corrodies, pensions and maintenance, as claimed by previous kings. Upon the Crown's request, the priory had granted 2 corrodies, with terms as specified. One was held by Nicholas Waite and then by John Kent, and the other by John Herlyng and then by Lambert Fermer. Reference to concession granted by Edward III, as in DCc-ChAnt/C/89. Terms for release include commemoration of feasts of St Edward, king and martyr, and saying prayers for the soul of Anne, Richard's late queen. After Richard's death the priory should give to the poor as many groats of money as the number of years lived by the king. Sent patent. Given at Westminster [Middlesex].
