Given in both languages. Confirming to Archbishop Ralph d'Escures and the priory monks the lands and privileges which they had under Edward the Confessor and William I. Addressed to his bishops, earls, thanes, sheriffs and other subjects, English and Latin, in the shires where they hold land. Dated Jan, no year. [Later version of DCc-ChAnt/C/7. For date and for the seal, see P Chaplais, 'The seals and original charters of Henry I' in English Historical Review, vol lxxv (Apr, 1960), pp265 and 273. T A M Bishop in Scriptores Regis (Oxford, 1961), p41, nos 95 and 97, considers that this charter was written by a Christ Church scribe.]
