[document damaged. Small area of text lost or illegible.] The dean and chapter of Canterbury Cathedral, by a lease dated 3? Aug 1596, leased 3 messuages in St Mary Magdalen parish, Canterbury, to John for a term of 40 years. John assigns the lands to William for the residue of the term. William promises to observe the covenants contained in the lease. For this William has paid £8. John Beadle's mark at end of document.

Endorsed with handwriting practice in late 16th or early 17th cent hands, including several signatures of Esdras Johnson and William Short.
