The whole of the land Simon held of Canterbury Cathedral Priory's manor of Colton [in Canterbury], lying with the lane by which the priory's watercourse descends to the great way to north and the land of Simon the chaplain '(Cappellanus') of Northgate [in Canterbury] to south and east. For annual payments of 6d to the manor of Colton, payable as specified, and 2d as a quit-rent ('forgabulum') to Simon, payable as specified whenever he is in Canterbury. Made and recorded at the court baron ('halimotum') of Colton. For this Rayner and Beatrix have paid 23s as a gersum fine. No date. [Date: handwriting and witnesses to other Canterbury charters.]
