Addressed to his sheriffs and reeves, English and French, wherever the cathedral priory holds land. He has granted to the priory its lands and goods, and this should not be disturbed. The monks may grant and take away their lands as they see fit. The priory's men should obey the monks. Octave of Pentecost. [Original given at Westminster, no date. Datable 1066x1087. This version dated by handwriting. Bishop and Chaplais, as below, presume that a scribe wrote 'munsorel' in error for Hugh de Montford, chief-constable of Normandy.]
