Apart from John King, they are described as tenants of the priory's manor of Little Chart. On 31 Oct 1483 Robert Taillour, priory servant, and Thomas Humfrey and James Burton, priory monks, read to them a grant dated under Richard II by Prior Thomas [Chillenden, I] and the convent to Thomas Brokhell' of Little Chart manor and other lands in Little Chart, Pluckley, Hothfield, Pivington, Charing and Westwell. For an annual payment of £18 4s 3d. [Presumably as in DCc-ChAnt/C/395.] On that 31 Oct these lands were in the possession of John Darell', esq. Robert, Thomas and James re-entered the lands because the payment was in arrears.
On verso, names of 22 men present at sealing in Little Chart manor court. Also description in contemporary hand.
