(1) Letter from Archbishop Edmund of Abingdon, with general address. Together with 5 bishops, named, he has consecrated Robert Grosseteste ('Groseteste') as bishop of Lincoln in Reading [on 17 Jun 1235]. As necessary, he obtained consent from the cathedral priory for this to happen outside Canterbury. Sealed with his seal and the seals of the 5 bishops.
(2) Letter from Robert Grosseteste, bishop of Lincoln. He has been consecrated by Archbishop Edmund of Abingdon and 5 named bishops at Reading. He obtained permission for this from the monks of Canterbury, as required under Thomas Becket's charter as confirmed by Pope Gregory IX.
(3) Chirograph agreement between Richard [Wendene], bishop of Rochester, and the prior and chapter of Canterbury made on 23 Nov 1243 concerning the cathedral priory's privileges and sede vacante jurisdiction.
